    Get PDF
This paper puts forward an energy flow chart analysis method for a range-extended electric bus. This method uses dissipation and cycle energy, recycle efficiency, and fuel-traction efficiency as evaluation indexes. In powertrain energy efficiency analysis, the range-extended electric bus is developed by Tsinghua University, the driving cycle based on that of Harbin, a northern Chinese city. The CD-CS and blended methods are applied in energy management strategies. Analysis results show with average daily range of 200 km, auxiliary power of 10 kW, CD-CS strategy, recycle ability and fuel-traction efficiency are higher. The input-recycled efficiency using the blended strategy is 24.73% higher than CD-CS strategy, while the output-recycled efficiency when using the blended strategy is 7.83% lower than CD-CS strategy

Research Progress of Superhydrophobic Materials in the Field of Anti-/De-Icing and Their Preparation: A Review

Accumulated ice has brought much damage to engineering and people’s lives. The accumulation of ice can affect the flight safety of aircraft and lead to the failure of cables and power generation blades; it can even cause damage to human life. Traditional anti-icing and de-icing strategies have many disadvantages such as high energy consumption, low efficiency, or pollution of the environment. Therefore, inspired by animal communities, researchers have developed new passive anti-icing materials such as superhydrophobic material. In this paper, the solid surface wetting phenomenon and superhydrophobic anti-icing and de-icing mechanism were introduced. The methods of fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces were summarized. The research progress of wear-resistant superhydrophobic coatings, self-healing/self-repairing superhydrophobic coatings, photothermal superhydrophobic coatings, and electrothermal superhydrophobic coatings in the field of anti-icing and de-icing was reviewed. The current problems and challenges were analyzed, and the development trend of superhydrophobic materials was also prospected in the field of anti-icing and de-icing. The practicality of current superhydrophobic materials should continue to be explored in depth

Rate-Splitting and Sum-DoF for the KK-User MISO Broadcast Channel with Mixed CSIT and Order-(K1)(K-1) Messages

In this paper, we propose a rate-splitting design and characterize the sum-degrees-of-freedom (DoF) for the KK-user multiple-input-single-output (MISO) broadcast channel with mixed channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) and order-(K1)(K-1) messages, where mixed CSIT refers to the delayed and imperfect-current CSIT, and order-(K1)(K-1) message refers to the message desired by K1K-1 users simultaneously. In particular, for the sum-DoF lower bound, we propose a rate-splitting scheme embedding with retrospective interference alignment. In addition, we propose a matching sum-DoF upper bound via genie signalings and extremal inequality. Opposed to existing works for K=2K=2, our results show that the sum-DoF is saturated with CSIT quality when CSIT quality thresholds are satisfied for K>2K>2.Comment: This work has been accepted by VTC2023-Fal

Energy Efficiency Oriented Design Method of Power Management Strategy for Range-Extended Electric Vehicles

    Get PDF
The energy efficiency of the range-extended electric bus (REEB) developed by Tsinghua University must be improved; currently, the energy management strategy is a charge-deplete-charge-sustain (CDCS) strategy, which exhibits low energy efficiency on the demonstration model. To improve the energy efficiency and reduce the operating cost, a rule-based control strategy derived from the dynamic programming (DP) strategy is obtained for the Chinese urban bus driving cycle (CUBDC). This rule is extracted by the power-split-ratio (PSR) from the simulation results of the dynamic powertrain model using the DP strategy. By establishing the REEB dynamic models in Matlab/Simulink, the control rule can be achieved, and the power characteristic of powertrain, energy efficiency, operating cost, and computing time are analyzed. The simulation results show that the performance of the rule-based strategy presented in this paper is similar to that of the DP strategy. The energy efficiency can be improved greatly compared with that of the CDCS strategy, and the operating cost can also be reduced

Effect of Groove Texture on Deformation and Sealing Performance of Engine Piston Ring

During the present study, a double groove texture was designed on the surface of a piston ring to improve the sealing performance between the piston ring and cylinder liner. The experimental design method was used to fabricate the test plan according to the groove width, depth, and spacing. By using the thermal–structural coupling analysis method, the finite element analysis of the standard piston ring and the textured piston ring was carried out to simulate the deformation state of the cylinder liner system of the piston ring group during the working stroke. The piston rings with different parameters designed by the test scheme were manufactured by wire electrical discharge machining, and the self-made experiment device carried out the sealing test. The results showed that the groove texture could improve the sealing performance of the piston ring, and the analyzed results demonstrated that the groove texture had little effect on the maximum deformation of the piston ring. Still, it could significantly reduce the minimum deformation of the piston ring group. A piston ring with groove texture would improve the sealing performance and reduce the deformation during the work stroke. During the test, the average deformation of the No.7 piston ring group, with a groove depth of 1 mm, a groove width of 0.5 mm, and a groove spacing of 0.1 mm, was the smallest, about 29.6% lower than that of the standard piston ring group. The sealing performance of the No.7 piston ring group was the best, and the reduction rate of the top gas leakage rate was 52.18%. During the present study, the sealing performance of the piston ring was improved by designing the grooved structure on the piston ring surface, thereby improving the fuel economy and power performance of the engine. The present study could provide a reference for the engineering field to design a piston ring with high sealing performance

A New Sequence Stratigraphic Framework of Terrestrial Fluvial

    Get PDF
Currently, the recognition and research on the classification of fluvial types mainly focus on the description and results of a series of indicators, such as the plane shape and sediment characteristics. However, there is limited literacy about how to demonstrate the fluvial types from the depositional process, especially less on sequence model of inland fluvial. Thus, this paper aims o propose a new kind of sequence stratigraphic framework, which is able to reflect the fluvial processes under the perspective of sequence stratigraphy. Accordingly, we use the principle of concrete analysis for concrete problems by comprehensively summing up the previous classification schemes of river types. With the research method of sedimentation process, new fluvial systems tracts for fluvial are presented here, including four parts: low fluvial system tract (LFST), advancing fluvial system tract (AFST), flooding fluvial system tract (FFST), receding fluvial system tract (RFST). Moreover, these could be applied to tackle the problem of the traditional division of fluvial. Various rivers have the different characteristics of systems tracts, then this may play a vital role in the discrimination of meandering river, braided river, anastomosing river and branched river. This study embodies the philosophical thought of Process Sedimentology and may contribute to revealing the deposition process of the fluvial system more profoundly from the aspect of genetic mechanism and evolution course. Most importantly, the fluvial classification system is definitely improved from the description stage to a complete rational stage
